Having taught in Texas for four years, I have gotten to see data on my growth through the T-TESS system, which is how teachers are evaluated here. Teachers are evaluated in many different areas and "graded" based on their work. For each category, a teacher may be "graded" as "Needs Improvement," "Developing," "Proficient," "Accomplished," or "Distinguished." My first year teaching, I was ranked "Developing" and "Proficient" in all areas, but quickly moved on to "Proficient" and "Accomplished" in my second year.
